Show Notes
Welcome to BuiltOnAir, a podcast and video series about all things Airtable. Each episode, we talk with someone active in the Airtable community to discuss their experiences and showcase an interesting way they’ve used Airtable in their work.
In today’s episode, we speak with Hannah Clark: Marketing and Communications Manager, Clothing Swap Runner, and Airtable aficionado. Hannah hails from the Twin Cities in Minnesota, where she uses Airtable to help not just her work life, but her home life as well.
Hannah discovered Airtable about nine months ago, and in those nine months has managed to amass an impressive amount of knowledge about the product, and even was selected as a winner of Airtable’s recent Block Ideation contest. Like many users, she started out by modifying one of Airtable’s templates, the Social Media Content Calendar, to match her needs. After getting a bit more comfortable, she started building her own bases from scratch.
She has since published three bases to the Airtable Universe, with uses ranging from fun to practical. She shows us these three bases today: Her Personal Budget and Debt Tracker, Movie & TV Log, and Home Improvement Database. Most striking in these bases is Hannah’s creative use of the gallery view. For many of her bases, she has created beautiful cover images using the app Canva, and used these to quickly identify each record. For example, each summary record in her Personal Budget and Debt Tracker has a pretty cover image of the month and year.
She also shows us a bit of the base she uses to run her clothing drives: Big Fat Super Swap and Inbetweenie Super Swap, which has a mission of providing clothing options for plus-size people of all genders. Last year, they were able to distribute and hand-deliver over 34 winter coats, an important staple of winters in Minnesota. Bravo, Hannah!
